Should guns be banned?

Guns should be banned, because it will be safer for the citizens.
In 1996, On 13 March, 16 school children and one teacher in Dunblane Primary School in Scotland were killed. On 28 April, 35 people were killed in the popular tourist resort of Port Arthur, on Tasmania with a semi-automatic weapon.
Rebut:
– The latest data show that people use guns for self-defense only rarely. According to a Harvard University analysis of figures from the National Crime Victimization Survey, people defended themselves with a gun in nearly 0.9 percent of crimes from 2007 to 2011.
– David Hemenway who led the Harvard Research said that “The average person … has basically no chance in their lifetime ever to use a gun in self-defense, but … every day, they have a chance to use the gun inappropriately.”
– Many people who carry a gun aren’t properly trained to use it in this way, and there is no performance validation standard for police officers. It will be rather dangerous to let this kind of people to use guns.
– Of course, more methods are needed: if guns are banned, people can also use knifes and other weapons. So not only should guns be banned, education and security checks are also important. But the first step is to ban guns – even though it is not a long plan for the future, but it is the first thing we can do now.

– Alvin
– Protect yourself
– Cops need it

Should violent video games be banned?
– It should not be banned.
– The reason a person is violent or not does not depend on the games they are playing. Of course they might learn some “killing techniques” from the games, but if their personality are violent (often caused by their family), they will do violent things even if they do not play violent games.
Rebut:
– It should be banned for children, because it is inappropriate for them and some of them may learn to be violent. However, it should not be banned to everyone, because it is some people’s interest, their penchant. They have the right to choose if they want to play it or not.
– Some children might have special ways to play it even if the games are banned for children. However, there must be a better way of not letting the children playing it other than banning the game. Also, there will be other games coming out if a specific game is banned.
– Other ways: educate kids that it is wrong to kill people, encourage them to play non-violent games, teach them the right way to deal with things (something other than fighting and killing), listen to them when they need (this is the most common reason kids start killing: they think no one is paying attention to them and they are trying to catch people’s attention and express their emotions). Tell parents to educate their kids in the right way: for example, parents should not play violent games in front of their kids because the kids will think it is the right thing to do. Parents should not beat someone up in front of their children.

Why the games are developed?
– Help soldiers to overcome their hesitancy
– Teenagers
– More aggressive a higher chance of bullying others and cyber bullying others
– Addictive
– Offensive for soldiers

Should YouTube and Google be banned in China?
– Yes.
– Because google records all the thing you search (which is part of AI) to do some statistics. As a result, google might know lots of information in China even before the local governments do. This makes China very passive. All information is held in other country’s hand.
– With YouTube and Google, the Economy in China will be greatly reduced, because according to Mercantilism, if you export more things than you import, you will be wealthy. If china is using American’s product more than they use China’s product, their economy will not be as good.
– If China banned Google and encourage the citizens to use Baidu instead, they can earn more money. For example the ad prices.
– Also, google does not ban information on its website. For example, if I create a blog on Google and share it with my grandparents, they might probably believe all the contents in it – they think that the information in websites are always true, when they were still young, they cannot create websites and only the governments can create nice looking websites like this. So if I want to trick old people I only need to create a blog on google easily.

Should graffiti be considered art?
Graffiti was started in the 1960s in America. It is the paintings or drawings on the walls or other surfaces usually without permission within public view. We must not consider it art. It is vandalism and we must take action to stop it!
Have you ever seen graffiti in the car parks behind your cars? Have you ever found them all around the bridges and found them annoying? This is why we should not consider it art, stop encouraging it, and clean them. It is unorganized, illegal, and an eye sore.
Some people think that “Few people go to art exhibitions nowadays, the art comes to them!”. Well, it is understandable that some graffiti are well organized and are not messy, however, it is illegal! Think about it, the walls and surfaces are not owned by anyone, not the citizens. If you are caught doing graffiti, you can be arrested and prosecuted under the Criminal Damage Act 1971 or be fined $5000 and above!
We must stop graffitiing! We must oppose the so-called artists being illegal! We must stop graffitiing from spreading and eradicate it from the states! This is how we face the laws with the right attitudes, not ruining the walls furtively! You and I as citizens should all promulgate the idea of expressing art in the right way, like painting on canvas, making some outdoor ads using billboards. With all the powerful voices from you and me we can stop the acts of vandalism in the ground of the states. Will you join us?

Should schools ban homework?
No.
Homework improve children’s memory of the things they have learnt in class. If they do not do homework they will forget the things they have learnt and the time they spent in class will be wasted.
Do not have to be a lot. For kindergarten children maybe parents should help them review the things they have learnt at school.
For primary school students, children should practice a lot to learn the skills learnt in class. For example, Maths, English. They practice to calculate and how to write essays.
Middle school: yes. They should practice even more. They should plan and balance their homework and play time on their own and be more responsible. This will also keep them motivated.
Against the against: how are they able to remember the things from class? They should be motivated to do homework.
Example: children do have time to read a book, but do not when it is assigned as a homework.
Duke University psychology professor Harris Cooper thinks that children should all be assign homework, but do not need to spend a lot of time. Primary school students should do 20 minutes of homework and high school students should do about 2 hours of homework everyday.
Should after school classes be mandatory?
Yes. But children should not be forced to do after school classes that they do not like. For example, if a kid is really talented in English literature and wants to spend his after school time on writing essays and stories, he should not be forced to do after school math class. He should be doing Math class at school, but he should spend his time on doing things he wants to do. So instead of after school math class, he can join an after school English literature club and he can communicate with other students that are also interested in English.
Children should all be involved in some kind of after school classes. When they are still young they can tell their parents what they are interested in and their parents can choose the after school activities for them. When they are older they should be responsible for themselves and choose the after school activities on their own.
Against the against: Of course some children do not like to have more classes and they get tired after school, but after school classes do not mean that they have to do lots of writing and reading. For example, they can have after school football class. Some children want to play by themselves. I think they can spend time more efficiently to find a teacher and learn. For example, if a kid likes drawing, he should not be drawing with sand on the ground by himself because he cannot learn much things from that. He should find a teacher that will help him to develop his art skills, the things he is interested at.
Should uniforms be required?
No. They should not be always required.
Although it will make the school have a better appearance and looks more disciplined, it will need lots of unnecessary money. In addition, the main purpose of a school is education. Instead of spending money on doing the uniform things, it can use the money to help other children that are still in poverty. It can help them to rise out from poverty and to provide them education.
Also, some students are being punished for not wearing school uniforms. But actually it is not a big deal. Some people say that it is safer, but actually all the danger can be prevented. For example, teachers should spend more attention on students to prevent them from running too far away.
Although uniforms should not be required, students should be in decent clothing when going to school.
